Dokoupil – Leopards

This winter, Galerie Andrea Caratsch shows a group of candle-soot paintings by Czech artist Dokoupil (b. 1954). Originally adapted from a Renaissance painting technique, the artist developed his signature style using candle soot to create his intriguing imagery. The exhibition focuses on his preoccupation with the Leopard, the artist’s totem animal and one of the most enigmatic inhabitants of our wild life.
